What I Believe
There is no "either-or." We are all "both-and." Once we learn this basic truth, everything gets a little bit easier.

The most recent part of my career story has me leading, teaching and learning in the profession of early childhood education, though I’ve worked with people from every age and demographic throughout my life.

Even if you don't have a small child yourself, you'll have to ask me what this might have to do with you (trust me, early childhood matters a lot, especially to grown-ups!).
My Professional History
Professionally I've been leading teams since my early 20s, and I have experience working in a variety of settings - from retail to the service industry, to non-profits and growing, entrepreneurial organizations.
What unites them all has been my focus on teaching and learning as tools to create change, organize systems, build connections and support people.

My Personal Life
Some other “fun” things you might want to know about me:
-
I have an 11-year-old mini-me (aka daughter).
-
My favorite thing to do is try new things
-
I believe in unicorns.
For real! With so much in our world still to discover, why wouldn’t they be out there, somewhere?

The Extras
I've been working as a leader for almost as long as I've been working. Yes, I'm an Executive Director in my day job and I've been leading teams since 2009, but I've been leading myself for a lot longer than that.
Some of us are positional leaders (meaning our job titles say we are) but I believe in self-leadership. It's what gets you out of bed when you'd rather sleep in. It's what motivates you to go to night school and improve your education. It's what compels you to do a "good job" even when no one is watching.

Leadership Experience
In 2009 I graduated with a B.Kin and a B.Ed because I have known for a long time that I want to help people be the best they can be, and I’ve always believed that our educational systems were meant to help us achieve this goal.
In 2022 I completed my M.Ed in Interdisciplinary Studies. I focused on educational neuroscience and mindful leadership. Exploring the question of what makes people do the things they do from both a brain and behaviour perspective gives me a more holistic perspective, which in turn supports the people around me to understand themselves and their choices more deeply.
02
Credentials To Prove It
Everything in life for me comes back to learning and teaching.
That's what first motivated me to take Kinesiology and become a sports coach; that's what propelled me to get my B.Ed. to understand how to teach in a classroom.
But education isn't just what happens between four walls.
I have something to teach you, and you have something to teach me. Together, we can achieve anything!
